The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index declined Thursday, closing at its lowest for the day amid continued pessimism in the market. It ended at 6,412.81 points, down by 12.99 points or 0.20 percent.

Only two of the sub-indices posted gains: industrials, up by 0.55 percent, and services, up by 0.50 percent.
Value turnover was down by a fifth from its average, at ₱4.84 billion. Financials declined by 0.58 percent; holding firms retreated by 0.40 percent; mining and oil were lower by 1.82 percent; and property was down by 0.33 percent.
There was net foreign selling of ₱179 million, with foreign buying at ₱2.523 billion and foreign selling at ₱2.702 billion. Market bellwether SM Investments fell by ₱5 to ₱846, while the most actively traded stock was BDO Unibank, with ₱333 million in trades, as it lost ₱1.30 to close at ₱162.80.
There were 89 gainers, 92 losers, and 61 unchanged.
Among the gainers were: ICTSI, GT Capital, Metrobank, Universal Robina, MacroAsia, Security Bank, Alternergy, Aboitiz Power, Basic Energy, First Gen, Meralco, Manila Water, Synergy Grid, and Century Pacific Food.
Vitarich, Figaro Coffee, Monde Nissin, Aboitiz Equity, Alliance Global, ANSCOR, DoubleDragon, Robinsons Land, MRC Allied, DigiPlus, Metro Retail, Puregold, SSI Group, and Wilcon Depot also closed seeing green.
Among the losers were: SM Prime, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Integrated Micro-Electronics, Union Bank, Bloomberry, Jollibee Foods, SPNEC, AgriNurture, D&L Industries, Emperador, Ginebra, MREIT RT, and Cebu Landmasters.
ABS-CBN, GMA-7, Converge, DITO CME, Belle Corp, PhilWeb, Robinsons Retail, Apex Mining, Nickel Asia, OceanaGold, Philex Mining, and Ayala Corp also dropped into the red zone.
Unchanged stocks included: ACEN Corp, Citicore REIT, Petron, Semirara Mining, Shell Pilipinas, Topline, Axelum, Megawide, Steniel, San Miguel, Araneta Properties, Megaworld, Shang Properties, PLDT, and Atlas Mining.
