Among the main sectoral indices, only Property managed to post a gain, rising 2.17%, driven by strong demand for real estate and consumer-related stocks.

Ayala Land (ALI) surged 4.65% to ₱27 on ₱1.59 billion worth of trades, while SM Prime (SMPH) rose 1.74% to ₱23.45 on ₱802 million turnover—making both stocks the most actively traded for the day.

Profit-taking, however, weighed heavily on several index heavyweights:

  • DigiPlus dropped ₱4.90 to ₱52, after reaching a high of ₱58.30.

  • Monde Nissin edged up ₱0.09 to ₱7.40 but failed to hold its intraday peak of ₱7.53.

Total turnover reached ₱7.88 billion—about a third higher than the recent average.

  • Mining & Oil fell 0.78%

  • Industrials lost 0.55%
