PSE Index Rebounds 1.30% on Technical Bounce as Mining Stocks Surge

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index recovered on Thursday on a technical bounce, closing at its intraday high of 6,238.46 points, up 80.12 points, or 1.30%.

Investors bought shares that had fallen into oversold territory, with market favorite
ICTSI and market bellwether SM Investments both closing at their intraday highs.
ICTSI rose 3.28% to ₱960.50, while SM Investments gained 1.94% to ₱579.
All sub-indices advanced, with mining and oil posting the biggest gain of 5.04%, as the geopolitical crisis remained unresolved and President Donald Trump vowed to economically pressure Iran amid what his administration described as Tehran's intransigence.
Financials rose 0.27%, industrials gained 0.65%, holding firms advanced 1.29%, services climbed 2.61%, and property increased 0.34%. Value turnover amounted to ₱8.77 billion, with local investors providing additional volume as foreign investors remained net sellers.
Foreign investors recorded net selling of ₱555 million, with foreign selling of ₱3.164 billion against foreign buying of ₱2.609 billion.
SPNEC was the most actively traded stock, with ₱3.09 billion in value turnover. The stock advanced 8.47% to ₱1.28. Apex Mining and Philex Mining also posted strong gains, rising 9.26% to ₱15.58 and 7.32% to ₱10.70, respectively.
Meralco declined 1.47% to ₱482, while Ayala Land fell another 1.18% to ₱15.10.
Market breadth was positive, with 113 gainers, 67 losers and 66 unchanged stocks.
