PSE Index Still Down

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index today went down anew after briefly hitting a respectable rise on profit-taking to close at 6,507.15 points, down by 32.21 points or 0.49 percent to 6,507.15 points.

Market bellwether SM Investments closed P14 lower to P910, its lowest price point after hitting a high of P927.50 to mirror the trading performance.


Top-traded Ayala Land with P644.6 million closed 95 centavos lower to P24.85, its lowest price point after hitting a high of P26.05. Another property giant, SM Prime with trades of P361 million went down by 85 centavos to P32.80, its lowest price point after it went to a high of P33.65.



As a result, property posted a hefty decline of 2.16 percent.


Ayala Corp was second most active with trades of P376 million as it gained P2.50 to P679.50 followed by Globe Telecom with trades of P365 million as it went up by P65 to P1,785.

Financials went up by 0.99 percent, industrials declined by 0.22 percent, holding firms down by 0.69 percent, while services and mining and oil went up respectively by 0.23 percent and 0.42 percent.


Total turnover reached P5.65 billion with 92 gainers, 80 losers and 52 shares unchanged. BDO Unibank rose by P2.20 to P140, Greenenrgy holdings by 2 centavos to P1.28, Jollibee Foods up by 20 centavos to P235.60, Monde Nissin up by 5 centavos to P8.30, and Puregold up by 15 centavos to P30.50.

The losers were ICTSI, down by P3.80 to P198, Metrobank, down by 15 centavos to P56.05, JG Summit, down by 40 centavos to P48.20, AgriNurture, down by 2 centavos to P7.30, Meralco, down by P2.60 to P328, Universal Robina, down 90 centavos to P142, while Security Bank and Wilcon Depot were respectively unchanged at P86.10 and P26.
