The PSE index ended at its intraday high, with buying interest returning after the market's losses earlier in the week.

The rebound also coincided with the listing of PNB Holdings Corp. under the ticker LTL.

PNB Holdings, the real estate arm of LT Group, began trading through a listing by way of introduction, rather than an initial public offering. Its shares had a reference price of ₱1.20.

LTL opened lower, fell to an intraday low of ₱0.70 and climbed as high as ₱1.25 before ending unchanged at ₱1.20.

All PSE sectoral indices closed higher. Property rose 0.13%, with Ayala Land gaining 1.20% to ₱15.12. Financials advanced 1.51%, industrials 0.81%, holding firms 0.65%, mining and oil 0.95%, and services 3.22%, according to PSE data.

Market favorite International Container Terminal Services Inc. rose 3.95% to ₱920, with about ₱903.55 million worth of shares changing hands.

SM Investments Corp. gained 2% to ₱510. Other actively traded gainers included BDO Unibank, which rose 2.43% to ₱114, and Bank of the Philippine Islands, which gained 1.52% to ₱97.15.

Trading activity also picked up.

More than 4.059 billion shares worth about ₱8.72 billion changed hands, while market breadth was positive, with 106 gainers against 70 losers and 65 unchanged issues.

The rebound snapped the PSE index's five-session losing streak, with market participants citing bargain hunting as a key factor behind Friday's advance.
