PSE Index Surges To A New High

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index surged to a new high Monday, boosted by strong foreign buying, closing at 6,360.77 points—up by 62.48 points or 0.99 percent.

All sub-indices ended in the green, including the top 10 most actively traded stocks. International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) emerged as the most actively traded stock, gaining ₱5 to close at ₱390, up 1.30 percent.


Market bellwether SM Investments also rose by ₱5 to ₱826 after reaching an intraday high of ₱835.



Net foreign buying surged to ₱1.411 billion, marking the first positive foreign inflow in recent months. Foreign purchases amounted to ₱3.933 billion, outpacing foreign selling of ₱2.522 billion. Total value turnover reached ₱6.413 billion.


By sector, financials rose by 0.65 percent, industrials gained 1.23 percent, holding firms increased by 0.80 percent, services advanced by 0.96 percent, mining and oil climbed 3.74 percent, and property was up 1.42 percent.



The market saw 122 gainers, 76 losers, and 48 unchanged stocks.


Among the top gainers were BDO Unibank, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Universal Robina, Ayala Land, SM Prime, DigiPlus, Meralco, PhilWeb, Philex, China Bank, Metrobank, PNB, Jollibee Foods, Bloomberry, PSE, Vantage Equities, Aboitiz Power, SPNEC, Ayala Corp, MREIT, Robinsons Land, Vista Land, ABS-CBN, GMA7, Apex Mining, Nickel Asia, and PXP Energy.



Declining stocks included Ferronickel, Semirara Mining, Axelum, Figaro Coffee, Ginebra, Monde Nissin, AbaCore, LT Group, Globe Telecom, DITO CME, Wilcon Depot, Puregold, Metro Retail, PhilSeven, and Aboitiz Equity.


Unchanged stocks included Citicore REIT, First Gen, AgriNurture, Megawide, Alliance Global, CEMEX Holdings, AREIT, San Miguel, Filinvest Land, Atlas Mining, Emperador, SSI Group, and Keeper Holdings.
