PSE RISES FURTHER
The Philippine Stock Exchange rose further today after a volatile run that mirrored the trading performance of a top-traded stock to close at 6,685.69 points, up 40.92 points or 0.62 percent.
Value turnover hit P10.07 billion with 109 gainers against 92 losers in another day where foreign investors bought more than they sold to the tune of P452 million.
Dito emerged as the top traded stock as its share price fluctuated violently on rumors about its telco assets. It traded P1.39 billion in a volatile run, where its share price went down to a low of P4.80 and a high of P6.14. It closed at P6.11, up by 22 centavos.
Market bellwether SM Investments also fluctuated between P1,029 and P991. It closed at P1,010, unchanged. Food giant Jollibee Foods added another P2.60 to close at P196.80 helped by net foreign buying of P56 million.
Globe Telecom and PLDT though gained even with net foreign selling of P49 million and P40, respectively. Globe rose by P54 to P2,068, while PLDT gained P40 to P1,380.
BDO Unibank, Bank of PI and Metrobank posted losses resulting in the drop in financials, the only loser among the sub sectors. BDO lost 85 centavos, BPI, 35 centavos, and Metrobank, P1.05.
