PSE SOARS TO NEW HIGH

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index today soared to a new high in this pandemic roaring beyond its resistance level to close 91.73 points or 1.28 percent higher to 7,246.16 points.

All six sub sectors posted gains with the mining and oil and property surging respectively by 1.82 percent and 2.72 percent, with value turnover of P9.88 billion - 155 shares up, 77 down and 40 shares unchanged.
Market bellwether SM Investments went up by P18 to P1,068, helped by an P18 million net foreign buying; but food giant, Jollibee Foods, even with a P33 million foreign buy declined by 80 centavos to P207 on profit taking.
There was net foreign selling of P685 million on foreign buying of P3.684 billion and foreign selling of P4.37 billion, but the entry of local investors in the local market was unmistakable as second liners were also traded.
BDO Unibank went up by P1.80 to P110.10, and Metrobank rose by P1.05 to P51.45, emerging as the most active with trades of P872 million. Bank of PI lost 60 centavos to P82.40, while Security Bank was up by P1.20 to P138.
Market darling MerryMart rose by 9 centavos to P5.99, while PLDT and Globe Telecom had different trading performance, with the former rising P5 to P1,335, while the latter lost P6 to P2,036. Converge gained 20 centavos to P15.70, while Dito increased by 29 centavos to P7.46.
