PSE SURGES FURTHER

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index surged further today helped by a higher net foreign buying to reach 6,484.06 points, up by 139.43 points or 2.20 percent.

Net foreign buying hit P793 billion with foreign buying of P3.779 billion against foreign selling of 2.989 billion to power the value turnover to P8.494 billion with 129 gainers 81 losers and 48 shares unchanged.


All subsectors were up except for services which dropped by a marginal 0.17 percent. Holding firms gained the most with a 3.25 percent and the property next with 1.99 percent gain.


Ayala Land was the most active with transactions of P678 million as it rose by 45 centavos to P33.95 boosted by a P162 million foreign buying. 


SM Prime rose by a peso to P34.50 while market bellwether SM Investments went up by P25 to P970. Jollibee Foods gained another P8.50 to close at P179 while third telco Dito was up by 28 centavos to P6.61.


PLDT was up P2 to P1,337 while Globe Telecom went down by P18 to P2,020. Bank of PI rose by P1.40 to P74.40 while Security Bank rose by P1.20 to P98.70.
