PSE UP A BIT
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) went up a bit today powered by more gainers against losers, 105-96 with 42 shares unchanged even with the continued net foreign selling of selected blue chips.
Value turnover was a measly P5.343 billion with all sectors, save the holding firms, posting gains as the PSE rose by 5.44 points or 0.09 percent to close at 5,937.05.
Net foreign selling amounted to P436 million on foreign buying of P1.508 billion and foreign selling of P1.946 billion. PLDT topped the foreign selling with P129 million as it lost P18 to P1,292.00. Globe Telecom also lost P48 to P2,002.
Market bellwether SM Investments was up by 50 centavos as it closed at P900 helped by a foreign buying of P22 million. Dito was top active stock as its share price was unchanged at P6.16. Transactions hit P663.08 million.
Jollibee Foods, with foreign buying of P27 million, closed higher at P145.40, up P1.60 while BDO Unibank, with buying of P30 million, was unchanged at P87.80. Metrobank was up by 10 centavos to P40.
