Luxury carmaker Rolls-Royce plans to expand its Goodwood factory and global headquarters to meet the growing demand for bespoke models, Theo Legett reported for BBC News.

The company will invest more than £300 million to produce more highly customized versions of its vehicles for its ultra-wealthy clientele.
The 120-year-old British brand, fully acquired by German automaker BMW in 2003, opened the Goodwood site in West Sussex the same year. Rolls-Royce stated that this expansion secures its long-term future in the UK.
In 2024, Rolls-Royce sold 5,712 cars, a slight decline from its record 6,032 vehicles sold in 2023. While these numbers are small compared to the millions of vehicles produced annually by mainstream manufacturers, Rolls-Royce operates in an exclusive market.
Although the brand does not disclose prices, its cheapest model, the Ghost saloon, starts at approximately £250,000, while the Cullinan SUV and electric Spectre models are believed to begin at around £340,000. By comparison, the average UK house price in 2024 was £297,000, according to Halifax.
