A large-scale Ukrainian drone attack killed at least three people in the Moscow region overnight, Russian authorities said, in what was described as one of the largest and most widespread drone offensives since the war began, according to a Euronews report by Nathan Rennolds.

In a Telegram post, Moscow regional governor Andrey Vorobyov said a woman was killed in a strike on a private residence on the outskirts of Moscow, while two others died in the village of Pogorelki.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appeared to confirm the attack in a post on X, writing that “Ukrainian long-range sanctions reached the Moscow region.”
The Russian Defense Ministry said air defenses intercepted 556 Ukrainian drones nationwide from Saturday night into early Sunday morning, with another 30 drones shot down later Sunday.
“Our responses to Russia’s prolongation of the war and its attacks on our cities and communities are entirely justified,” Zelenskyy said.
“The distance from Ukraine’s state border is over 500 kilometers. The concentration of Russian air defense in the Moscow region is the highest. But we are overcoming it,” he added.
