Some Republican lawmakers are expressing skepticism over President Donald Trump’s claim that U.S. hostilities with Iran have “terminated,” according to Raw America.

Under the War Powers Resolution, the president must seek congressional authorization within 60 days of initiating military action. That deadline has reportedly passed.
Trump has argued that a ceasefire agreement effectively ends the requirement.
However, U.S. forces remain deployed in the region, and enforcement actions such as maritime restrictions continue. Several Republican senators have raised concerns.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski has suggested forcing a vote on legislation to authorize military action with limits, while Sen. Susan Collins has supported efforts to halt the conflict. Sen. Josh Hawley has also expressed caution about further escalation.
Legal experts say the administration’s interpretation of the War Powers Resolution could face challenges.
