Investors and entrepreneurs said the listing marks another step in transforming space exploration from a government-led industry into one increasingly driven by private companies.
According to Seraphim Space, global investment in space companies reached a record US$7.95 billion during the first quarter, nearly doubling from US$3.93 billion in the previous quarter.
The industry recorded 159 investment transactions during the quarter, bringing the rolling 12-month total to a record 654 deals.
New space ventures extend beyond rockets and satellites.
Among them is Beyond Reach Labs, which is developing expandable solar panels capable of growing from the size of a dining table to approximately the size of a football field once deployed in space.
Another startup, Galactic Resource Utilization Space, aims to build what it describes as the world's first hotel on the Moon.
