The criticism intensified following a reported security incident linked to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, prompting calls from some political figures to hold media personalities accountable for inflammatory rhetoric.

Meanwhile, FCC Commissioner Anna M. Gomez warned against using such incidents as justification to restrict free speech.
