The Japanese automaker is increasingly reliant on India both as its main production hub and as its largest market. Dealer sales in India reached 1.79 million units in 2024, up just 0.1% from the previous year, but they accounted for 55% of Suzuki’s global sales.
Nevertheless, Suzuki warned that material costs, wage increases, and exchange rates are likely to impact profits for the full year.
The company and other Japanese carmakers are reevaluating their business strategies amid threats from the U.S. to impose higher tariffs on goods from its 15 largest trading partners, including Japan.
