The Washington Post reports that Tesla employees believe Musk has become "disengaged" from the automaker as he serves as President Donald Trump’s right-hand man, Futurism’s Frank Landymore wrote.
Employees across all levels—from rank-and-file workers to senior managers—have reportedly voiced their belief that the company would be better off if Musk resigned.
At a recent staff meeting, some senior managers discussed the possibility of moving forward without him.
“He seems to have ghosted his own company,” Nell Minow, vice chairman of ValueEdge Advisors, told the newspaper. Minow, who donated the majority of her Tesla stock last year, added, “He has inflicted a massive amount of damage on the perception of that company.

“While Musk might get away with a (Nazi-like) salute in some nations, European markets reject such behavior,” said Tim Kraaijvanger, founder of the Dutch Tesla blog Tesla360.nl, in an interview with Wired. “World War II still casts a long shadow.”
These concerns come amid a difficult year for Tesla, which has struggled with declining sales, shrinking profits, and stagnating revenue.
Sales in Europe have dropped by 13%, with Norway—a country where 88.9% of all new cars sold are electric vehicles—seeing a staggering 37.9% decline in Tesla sales in 2024.
“We invested in a vision of what he stood for, and Tesla’s mission was to build a sustainable future,” said Kevin Smith, a longtime shareholder who recently sold all his Tesla stock. “I bought into the scam, and that’s on me—but now he’s doing the same thing to the country.”
