Time magazine named Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and other “Architects of AI” as its Person of the Year, citing Masayoshi Son of Japan’s SoftBank as one of the foremost evangelists and investors in artificial intelligence, Kyodo News reported.

“AI changed our world in 2025, in new and exciting and sometimes frightening ways,” Time said.
Tech leaders such as Huang “grabbed the wheel of history … making decisions that are reshaping the information landscape, the climate and our livelihoods,” the magazine added.
It also said AI “emerged as arguably the most consequential tool in great-power competition since the advent of nuclear weapons.”
Also included in the “Person of the Year” group were OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and X owner Elon Musk. Son, chairman and CEO of SoftBank Group, was recognized for his major investments in AI-related ventures, including a startup focused on self-driving cars.
