In partnership with Jera Co., a green energy provider, Toho now powers its Tokyo-based studio with hydrogen-fired electricity, complementing its existing solar energy supply. The studio’s annual energy consumption matches that of 1,500 households.
Jera’s hydrogen facility at the Sodegaura Thermal Power Station in Chiba Prefecture supports this initiative, as part of Toho’s goal of achieving complete decarbonization by 2030. Founded in 1932, Toho Studios is known for classics like Seven Samurai and recent Godzilla films, including Godzilla Minus One.
