Toyota Motor Corp. has raised its global production target for 2025 to approximately 10 million vehicles, which would mark the first time in two years it has reached that level, sources close to the matter said, Mainichi Japan reported .

The automaker had initially set a target of 9.9 million units for the year, citing uncertainty over higher U.S. tariffs. However, stronger-than-expected vehicle sales prompted the revision.
Toyota’s global output last surpassed the 10 million mark in 2023, reaching 10.03 million units, as the effects of the global semiconductor shortage began to subside.
Recently, the company announced that its group firms sold a record 5.54 million vehicles worldwide in the first half of 2025, securing its position as the world’s top-selling automaker for the sixth consecutive year.
