Trader Joe’s Recalls Food Products Over Possible Glass Contamination

Trader Joe’s has issued an urgent warning to customers about four popular frozen foods that have been included in a massive recall affecting 36 million pounds of various products, Amber Raiken reported for The Independent.

Ajinomoto Foods North America Inc., based in Portland, Oregon, expanded a Feb. 19, 2026, recall of frozen not-ready-to-eat (NRTE) chicken products due to potential foreign material contamination after glass fragments were discovered, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Approximately 33,617,045 additional pounds of various ready-to-eat (RTE) and NRTE chicken and pork fried rice, ramen, and shu mai dumpling products have been recalled.
As part of the expanded recall, Trader Joe’s announced Tuesday that four of its products were affected.
These include the brand’s Chicken Fried Rice, with Best By dates through March 4, 2026, and Feb. 10, 2027; Vegetable Fried Rice, with Best By dates between Feb. 28, 2026, and Nov. 19, 2026; Japanese Style Fried Rice, with Best By dates between Feb. 28, 2026, and Nov. 14, 2026; and Chicken Shu Mai, with Best By dates between March 13, 2026, and Oct. 23, 2026.
