The administration of Donald Trump has removed all members of the National Science Board, according to two former members, Kanishka Singh reported for Reuters.

The board, established in 1950, oversees the National Science Foundation and advises the president and Congress on science and engineering policy.
Members Yolanda Gil and Keivan Stassun said they were informed that all 22 board members had been terminated effective immediately, with no explanation provided.
The board traditionally includes academics and representatives from national laboratories, nonprofits, and industry.
The move comes amid broader concerns among analysts that the administration is reshaping independent institutions by replacing existing members with new appointees.
“Given similar actions across the federal government, it seemed only a matter of time,” Stassun said.
