President Donald Trump said he received an MRI scan during a recent trip to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center — marking the first time he has provided a reason for his second medical exam this year and raising new questions about the president’s health, Betsy Klein reported for CNN.

“I did. I got an MRI. It was perfect,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Monday. “I gave you the full results. We had an MRI, and the machine, you know, the whole thing, and it was perfect,” he added.

Trump, 79, one of the oldest presidents in U.S. history, declined to say why he received the MRI during the Walter Reed visit earlier this month, telling reporters to “ask the doctors.”

Trump also told Good Morning America reporters Michelle Stoddart and David Brennan that he refuses to rule out running for a third term, despite the 22nd Amendment limiting presidents to being elected twice.

Earlier this month, the president’s doctor said Trump was in “exceptional health.”

In July, the White House disclosed that Trump was experiencing swelling in his lower legs and bruising on his right hand, after photographs showed the president with swollen ankles and makeup covering the affected area.

Since then, the White House has downplayed concerns about Trump’s health without detailing how the leg issue is being treated, Trevor Hunnicutt, Satoshi Sugiyama, and Peter Graff also reported for Reuters.
