President Donald Trump said immigration officials “haven’t gone far enough” in deporting people who are in the country without legal authorization, in a wide-ranging interview on 60 Minutes on CBS, Bart Jansen reported for USA Today.

Trump also told Norah O’Donnell that China would not invade Taiwan while he is president, adding that the topic did not come up during his Oct. 30 meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
He repeated his call to end the Senate filibuster — which allows a minority of lawmakers to block contentious legislation — as a way to end the government shutdown, though both Democrats and Republicans rejected the idea.
Trump again threatened to remove Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, saying, “his days are numbered.”
At one point, Trump cut off O’Donnell when she described New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani as a “democratic socialist,” interjecting, “Communist, not socialist. He’s far worse than a socialist.”
Trump said the federal government would not support New York if Mamdani were mayor: “It’s going to be hard for me as president to give money to New York,” he said.
When O’Donnell asked about comparisons between him and Mamdani as charismatic leaders who break old rules, Trump quipped, “Well, I think I’m a much better-looking person than him, right?”
