U.S. President Donald Trump has blamed philanthropist George Soros — a key donor to the Democratic Party — for supporting “violent protests” across the country and called for Soros and his son to be charged with racketeering, Doloresz Katanich reported for Euronews.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump accused the 95-year-old billionaire and his son of violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, which is typically used to prosecute criminal enterprises.
“George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the U.S.,” Trump wrote.
Trump offered no evidence to support his accusations, nor did he provide details on whether Soros was under any investigation. He also described the billionaire and his organization as “radical left-wing psychopaths.”
Soros is best known for his philanthropy and donations through the Open Society Foundations (OSF). He has also long been a major financial supporter of Democratic causes in the U.S.
