President Trump denied having prior knowledge of the FBI search of former National Security Adviser John Bolton’s house.

Speaking to reporters in Washington, Trump said he told the Justice Department not to inform him of such matters. “I’m not a fan of John Bolton,” he added, Luke Broadwater reported for The New York Times.
The search is part of an investigation into allegations that Bolton leaked sensitive national security information to the press and others in an effort to damage Trump, according to a senior federal law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the situation.
The probe covers Bolton’s actions over the past four years, not just material gathered for his memoir, Glenn Thrush also reported.
The FBI search comes amid internal turmoil at the bureau, which has been shaken by political purges and an exodus of senior agents.
Earlier this week, in an extraordinary move, the White House installed Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey as co-director of the FBI alongside Dan Bongino, the bureau’s No. 2 official, who has reportedly fallen out of favor over his handling of the Epstein files, Maggie Haberman and Monika Cvorak reported for The New York Times.
