U.S. President Donald Trump warned Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin may invade another country, following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Trump said Putin recently called him to offer assistance in settling the ongoing Middle East conflict and to act as a go-between for the U.S., Israel, and Iran. I Photo: President of Russia
The comments came during a press conference at the NATO summit in The Hague, Euronews reporter Shona Murray reported.
When asked whether he considered Putin an enemy and if he believed the Russian leader harbored territorial ambitions beyond Ukraine, Trump replied: “It’s possible. I consider him a person who I think is misguided.”
Trump said Putin recently called him to offer assistance in settling the ongoing Middle East conflict and to act as a go-between for the U.S., Israel, and Iran. “He called the other day and said, ‘Can I help you with Iran?’ I said, ‘No, you can help me with Russia,’” Trump told reporters.
The president added that Putin appears eager to end the war in Ukraine. “He would like to settle.
He would like to get out of this. It’s a mess for him. I said: ‘You help me get a settlement with you,’ and I think we’re going to be doing that soon.”
Trump had previously claimed he could negotiate an end to the Ukraine conflict within 24 hours of returning to the White House — a promise he now admits was sarcastic.
Speaking at the NATO summit, he said, “I was joking when I said that. Obviously, it’s more complicated than 24 hours. But I do think we can find a path to peace.”
