President Donald Trump’s claim that he now runs “the country and the world” has sparked alarm among analysts, who warn that his personalized and unpredictable style of leadership could destabilize the international order, Stephen Collinson wrote for CNN.

Trump's approach risks eroding U.S. global credibility rather than enhancing it.

In an interview with The Atlantic, Trump said he had shed the “crooked guys” and investigations from his first term and now fully controls U.S. and global policy.

“The second time, I run the country and the world,” he declared. From Moscow to New Delhi and Gaza to Rome, Trump’s influence is being felt. But his erratic and vengeful leadership style is raising deep concerns.

Collinson argued that Trump's approach, driven by social media outbursts and impulsive decisions—like arbitrarily declaring massive tariffs—risks eroding U.S. global credibility rather than enhancing it.

“Trump made his name as a builder,” Collinson noted, “but he’s better at tearing things down.”
