The fallout from Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes spans oceans and continents, from the vulnerable girls he exploited to the powerful people and institutions that chose to associate with him, cover up his activities, or look away.

No one has paid a higher cost than Epstein’s victims, who number more than 1,000, according to the Justice Department, Laurie Kellman reported for the Associated Press (AP).
One figure battered by the delayed release of the Epstein files is US President Donald Trump, who failed to control a crisis of his own making — then claimed credit for resolving it.
Trump signed the bill authorizing the release only after losing a highly visible political battle, including with some of his staunchest MAGA supporters, triggering a 30-day clock.
Major developments he later touted as achievements failed to quiet the issue.
Democrats fueled the controversy further by releasing selected Epstein-related emails on Nov. 12, the same day Congress and Trump ended a record 43-day government shutdown.
Six years after Epstein’s death, his past association with Trump continues to chip away at the president’s time, attention, and political support. The Justice Department abruptly reversed course in July, announcing that no “further disclosure” would be forthcoming.
MAGA supporters, expecting Trump to keep his campaign promise, edged toward rebellion. Trump lashed out, calling critics “stupid people” and “weaklings,” but the backlash continued as reporters pressed him on the issue.
