President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will send additional Patriot air defense missiles and other “very sophisticated” military equipment to Ukraine, expressing growing frustration over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s conduct in the ongoing war, Andrew Feinberg reported for The Independent.

“I am very disappointed with President Putin. I thought he was somebody that meant what he said—he’ll talk so beautifully and then he’ll bomb people at night. We don’t like that,” Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews.
Trump did not rule out new sanctions, which he said may be discussed during his meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte at the White House.
He also revealed that the European Union would help purchase U.S.-made weapons destined for Ukraine.
“We will send them Patriots, which they desperately need because Putin... really surprised a lot of people,” Trump said. “It’s a little bit of a problem there. I don’t like it.”
The president’s comments came days after a Russian airstrike hit a Ukrainian maternity hospital, injuring nine, followed by a weekend barrage of drones and missiles across the country. His pledge to increase military support marks a shift in tone, following earlier mixed signals on U.S. policy toward the war.
