Tucker Carlson said he is launching a new show on Twitter, putting him on a potential collision course with Fox News, which ousted him last month while keeping him under contract until 2025, Talal Ansari and Keach Hagey reported for Wall Street Journal.

“Starting soon, we’ll be bringing a new version of the show we’ve been doing for the last six-and-a-half years to Twitter,” Carlson said in a video posted to the social media platform Tuesday afternoon.
He argued that he is free to mount any show anywhere since Fox News breached its contract with him. With his Twitter show, Carlson will try to expand his viewership and possibly outnumber the captive audience of Donald Trump.
However, since Fox News never rescinded his contract and merely stopped his show, it is next to impossible for him to launch a new show on Twitter using the staff of his Fox News commentary program.
What Carlson could do, as Rick Wilson suggested in Raw Story, is launch a campaign as presidential nominee for the Republican party.
Carlson would probably be a better demagogue than Trump as he does not have the same baggage as the defeated president, particularly after the latter was convicted by a jury in the civil suit lodged by E. Jean Carroll for rape, battery, and defamation and ordered to pay $5-million in damages.
