The investigation, which Adidas announced last week, is examining “compliance violations” in China, a crucial market for the company.

Adidas found that one employee violated the company’s code of conduct in interactions with local vendors, while a second employee did not meet the company’s leadership expectations.

Both employees, who worked in marketing for Adidas China, have since left the company. The investigation continues, following allegations that company executives had embezzled millions of euros and taken significant kickbacks.
