The U.S. House of Representatives has passed legislation providing additional aid to Ukraine and expanding sanctions targeting parts of the Russian economy, Kevin Freking reported for The Associated Press (AP).

Lawmakers approved the measure in a 226–195 vote, reflecting deep divisions over the direction of U.S. foreign policy and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Supporters of the bill argued that it reinforces long-term commitments to Ukraine’s defense, while critics raised concerns about its impact on diplomatic efforts and negotiations.

The legislation now moves forward in the legislative process for further consideration.
