U.S. Intensifies Iran Campaign With New Airstrikes and Naval Blockade

The U.S. military has reimposed a naval blockade on Iran and intensified its airstrike campaign, according to CBS News.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said it completed a seven-hour wave of attacks across Iran aimed at further reducing Tehran's ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian maritime traffic.

According to CENTCOM, dozens of targets were struck during Tuesday night's operation, including missile launch sites, drone facilities, and coastal defense systems.

"The goal was to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian crews," CENTCOM said in a statement posted on X.

The operation marked the fourth consecutive night of U.S. strikes on Iranian targets.

The latest military actions come amid escalating exchanges between Iran and the United States over control of the Strait of Hormuz, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.

President Donald Trump also warned that the United States would target Iranian power plants and bridges the following week unless Iran "gets to the table and negotiates."
