The attack targeted the Omsk refinery, which processes approximately 21 million metric tons of crude oil annually and is located about 1,700 miles (2,735 kilometers) from Ukrainian territory.

Omsk Governor Vitaly Khotsenko confirmed that "enemy UAVs" had struck the refinery, adding that no casualties had been reported.

He urged residents not to approach the drone debris but did not specify the extent of the damage.

Videos circulating on social media appeared to show a fire at the refinery, with smoke rising from the facility's ELOU-AVT-11 processing unit.

Ukraine's Special Operations Forces later claimed responsibility, describing the operation as the country's first successful strike on the Omsk refinery and its longest-range drone attack since Russia's full-scale invasion began.
