Private equity firm Uplift Investors has raised US$670 million for its inaugural investment fund, targeting businesses in legal services and other specialized service industries, Forbes Daily reported.

The fundraising comes during a difficult environment for private equity firms, as higher interest rates, slower exits, and rapid advances in artificial intelligence have weighed on investor sentiment.
According to PitchBook, fundraising in the previous quarter relied heavily on a handful of large funds, including KKR's US$23 billion North America fund.
Founded last year in Darien, Connecticut, Uplift Investors was established by Will Hausberg, Doug Rosenstein, and Brad Skaf, who previously worked together at Gridiron Capital.
The firm's investment strategy centers on what it calls the "5-5-5 Framework," focusing on five service sectors: legal services, financial services, knowledge and talent solutions, technical trades, and industrial services.
"We invest in services, but services alone is too broad to be a specialization," Hausberg told Forbes.
