JD Vance has reportedly questioned whether the Pentagon is providing Donald Trump with an accurate picture of the war in Iran, according to a report by The Atlantic cited by Alex Griffing for Mediaite.

The report, by Missy Ryan, Vivian Salama, Michael Scherer, and Nancy A. Youssef, said the vice president has raised concerns about the accuracy of information regarding US weapons stockpiles and battlefield conditions.
According to unnamed officials, Vance has questioned the availability of certain missile systems and expressed skepticism about optimistic public assessments by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman General Dan Caine.
The report noted that Vance has presented his concerns cautiously to avoid internal divisions, though some of his advisers believe official portrayals of the conflict may be overly positive.
Citing sources familiar with US intelligence, the report added that Iran may retain significant military capabilities, including much of its missile-launching capacity and naval assets.
