Walmart Inc. has removed four bagged iceberg lettuce salad products manufactured by Taylor Farms from select stores as recalls linked to a cyclospora outbreak continue to expand, Bloomberg News reported.

The retailer said there have been no confirmed illnesses associated with the affected Marketside-brand products sold at its stores.

A Walmart spokesperson said there is no indication that products sold by the retailer are directly connected to the current cyclospora investigations. However, the company removed the products as a precaution after receiving notification from a supplier.

The expanding recalls have reached additional U.S. retailers, prompting many consumers to avoid purchasing berries and leafy greens in recent weeks.

Produce sales are particularly important during the summer months, when demand typically increases. Industry analysts say product recalls can reduce consumer demand for weeks or even months.

The precautionary action follows Taylor Farms' decision to recall products sourced from a farm in Mexico that were distributed to 27 U.S. states.
