Susie Wiles is facing mounting criticism after a gunman reportedly came close to the US president during the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

Wiles, 68, was not in attendance when the incident occurred, Laura Esposito reported for The Daily Beast.
Some critics argue that Wiles, who oversees the United States Secret Service in her role, bears responsibility for security lapses.
A former administration official told RealClearPolitics that Wiles should be held accountable for allowing Secret Service Director Sean Curran to remain in his post despite “numerous failures.”
“They’re about to fire Kash, and he had nothing to do with this,” the source said, referring to reports that Trump may remove FBI Director Kash Patel.
Others, however, argue that responsibility lies elsewhere, including with members of the president’s inner circle who supported Curran’s appointment.
