Young Americans Show Deep Skepticism Toward AI and Tech Leaders

Younger Americans have expressed significant skepticism about artificial intelligence and pessimism about the U.S. economy, according to a survey cited by Forbes Daily.

The survey of Americans ages 18 to 34 found that 45% believed AI would have a negative impact on their careers, compared with 10% who said it would have a positive impact.

The findings point to concerns among younger workers about how rapidly developing AI technologies could affect employment and career prospects.

The survey also found widespread distrust of prominent technology executives. About 81% of respondents said they distrusted Palantir CEO Alex Karp, the strongest negative response recorded among the AI leaders included in the survey.

On the U.S. economy, 78% of respondents described conditions as "bad," "very bad" or "couldn't be worse."
