Yum Brands Earnings Miss Estimates as Pizza Hut, KFC Struggle In U.S.

Yum Brands has reported quarterly earnings and revenue that missed analysts’ expectations, with Pizza Hut and KFC posting U.S. same-store sales declines, Amelia Lucas reported for CNBC.

Earnings per share were $1.44 on an adjusted basis, compared with the $1.46 expected. Revenue came in at $1.93 billion—a 10% increase but slightly below the $1.94 billion forecast.
Yum reported second-quarter net income of $374 million, or $1.33 per share, up from $367 million, or $1.28 per share, a year earlier.
