The closures follow a business review that identified sites no longer financially viable.

The chain, with 450 restaurants and others in service stations and holiday parks, will shutter 43 sites, although it has not disclosed the number of affected jobs. Separately, Revolution Bars has stated it might sell "all or part of the group."

This year, the Body Shop and nightclub chain Pryzm have already faced difficulties, leading to site closures.

The announcement followed reports suggesting Revolution could close approximately 20 bars, roughly a quarter of its outlets.

UK Managing Director Chris Phylactou, announcing the Papa John's site closures, said: "Our priority is our team members, who will receive full support throughout this process. We aim to work with impacted team members and explore redeployment opportunities where available."
