For the second quarter, 3M reported adjusted earnings of $2.40 per share, surpassing analysts' estimate of $2.25 per share.
Adjusted operating margins improved to 24.9%, reflecting continued progress in the company's multi-year turnaround strategy, which began in 2024.
Although 3M is widely known for products such as Post-it Notes and Scotch Tape, the company has continued expanding its presence in industrial and technology markets, including artificial intelligence and aerospace.
In its earnings release, 3M said Microsoft became the first hyperscale cloud provider to deploy its Expanded Beam Optics technology in AI data centers.
The company also announced a long-term agreement with Airbus to supply advanced insulation technologies for the A220 aircraft.
In addition, 3M said its communications headsets were used by crew members during NASA's Artemis II mission, underscoring the company's role in next-generation space exploration.
