Alaska Airlines Orders 110 Boeing Planes in Expansion Plan

Alaska Airlines is ordering 110 new Boeing planes — the largest single order in the airline’s history — the company said, David Shepardson reported for Reuters.

Seeking to expand operations, the airline said it is ordering 105 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft and five new 787-10 jets.


The additional planes will allow the company to increase its fleet to more than 475 aircraft by 2030 and more than 550 by 2035, up from its current fleet of 413.


Last month, Alaska Air said it will add seven new routes from its hubs in Anchorage and Portland. Alaska Air Group’s Hawaiian Airlines also announced plans to invest $600 million over five years.
