Amazon Raises Prices on Echo, Kindle, Fire TV and eero Devices Amid Memory Cost Surge

Amazon has raised prices for several of its first-party devices, including Echo smart speakers, Fire TV products, Kindle e-readers and eero networking equipment, as rising memory and storage costs put pressure on consumer electronics, Sebastian Herrera reported for Fortune.

The company raised prices overnight across several hardware lines, according to a review by Fortune. The base Echo Dot increased from $49.99 to $79.99, while the Echo Show 11 rose from $219.99 to $249.99.
The 16GB Kindle increased from $109.99 to $149.99, while the 16GB Kindle Paperwhite rose from $159.99 to $199.99.
Amazon also raised the price of its Fire TV Stick HD from $34.99 to $39.99 and the Fire TV Stick 4K Max from $59.99 to $84.99. The eero 7 three-pack increased from $349.99 to $399.99, while the eero Pro 7 three-pack rose from $699.99 to $799.99.
Amazon confirmed the price increases and attributed them to significant increases in memory and storage component costs.
The company said it had absorbed the higher costs for as long as possible before adjusting prices.
Not all Amazon hardware was affected. Ring cameras and video doorbells and the Echo Studio were among the products that did not receive price increases, according to The Verge.
