The artificial intelligence company could go public as soon as November, although its filing did not disclose a final valuation target, offering price or number of shares to be sold.

Anthropic, the developer of the Claude AI assistant, reported approximately $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026.

It also recorded a net loss of about $80.7 billion, most of which was attributable to a large accounting charge associated with the valuation of its financing instruments.

The company highlighted its technology's potential applications in scientific research while acknowledging the risks associated with increasingly capable AI systems.

Anthropic warned that its safeguards against malicious uses of its technology, including potential efforts to develop dangerous weapons, remain incomplete.

The disclosure underscores the challenge of ensuring that safety measures keep pace with rapid advances in AI capabilities.

The IPO is expected to draw considerable investor attention, but the company's eventual valuation and market debut will depend on the terms of the offering and investor demand.
