Anthropic vowed to fight the Department of Defense’s designation of the company as a supply chain risk in court as its high-profile standoff with the federal government escalated, Forbes Daily reported.

Still, CEO Dario Amodei apologized last week after he initially shared a heated memo with employees, writing Thursday that “Anthropic has much more in common with the Department of War than we have differences.”
Anthropic’s Claude is surging in app downloads and traffic amid its feud with President Donald Trump and the Pentagon, according to data from Similarweb.
Meanwhile, as OpenAI has faced backlash for striking a deal with the Defense Department, its downloads have declined. Claude’s downloads on the iOS and Android app stores as of Mar. 2 rose by 55%, and about a million users are joining each day.
