The company increased prices recently for several MacBook and iPad models to offset soaring memory and storage costs while leaving iPhone prices unchanged, Daniel Howley reported for Yahoo Finance.

Apple shares fell more than 4 percent in early trading following the announcement.

The entry-level MacBook Neo increased from $599 to $699, while the MacBook Air rose from $1,099 to $1,299. The Neo's affordability has been one of its primary selling points, making the $100 price increase particularly significant.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro increased from $1,699 to $1,999, while the 16-inch model rose from $2,699 to $2,999.

Apple also raised iPad prices. The 11-inch iPad Air now costs $749, up from $599, while the 13-inch version increased to $949 from $799. The 11-inch iPad Pro now sells for $1,199, compared with its launch price of $999, while the 13-inch model increased to $1,499 from $1,299.
