Barclays has apologized for issues with payments into and out of the accounts of some of its UK customers after an outage hit the bank, Jemma Dempsey reported for BBC News.

The bank said it was "working to fix" the problems.
Telephone banking is also impacted, but card transactions and ATM withdrawals still work, the bank said. Issues with the Barclays app and online banking have been resolved, it added in an update on X, formerly Twitter.

One business customer voiced their concern on social media, saying the issue was "not a joke or glitch; this is people's lives." They added: "We need to make emergency plans if our money is inaccessible or gone."
