Bill Ackman Raps Pepsi, Coke Over Consumer Obesity
Investor Bill Ackman renewed his criticism of PepsiCo and Coca-Cola in a series of tweets, arguing that the soft-drink makers “have caused more harm to global health than likely any other company.”

“Just look at the correlation between diabetes/obesity and soft drink consumption,” Ackman tweeted.
“It is remarkable that the plaintiffs’ bar has not yet won a massive judgment against them."
Reporting for Barron’s, Andrew Bary noted that activist investors have been hacking away at PepsiCo and Coca-Cola for not doing anything to remedy the situation by scrimping on sugar for their beverages.
Ackman and other investor groups have also been pressuring oil and gas companies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and wean themselves from fossil fuels, which are largely blamed for global warming.
